Bermuda Auction Catalogs
This section contains a comprehensive list of major Bermuda auctions compiled by Charles Freeland and Michel Forand. Comprehensive but not, as Charles says, complete. All modern major Bermuda auctions are listed but there is some degree of subjectiveness there and no attempt has been made to cover auctions directed solely at highly specialized collecting areas.

There is no question that these catalogs are a vital tool to the specialized Bermuda collector. Quoting from Charles Freeland's article in the June 1996 issue of the Bermuda Post "Close study of these (specialized auction catalogs) enables the collector to: target what he needs to enhance his collection; to establish pedigrees; to obtain guidance on relative pricing and to protect himself from poor descriptions or defective or forged items." The article is entitled "Bermuda Auction Catalogs." A copy of the article can be found in the Bermuda Post section,

Rather than just providing a listing, we are attempting to include scans of as many of the catalogs as possible. When you see an entry in white type, double clicking on it will take you to a scanned copy of the Bermuda portion of the actual catalog.

This project will take time and as we launch our web site we have only one scanned catalog. To put a catalog on the web we must first secure permission from the auction house and then scan the pages, encode them and load them on the web server. We would certainly appreciate any volunteers willing to help with this effort. It is our goal to load as many of the catalogs as we can.
