General Information
The Bermuda Collectors Society (BCS) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the study and exchange of information concerning all aspects of Bermuda philately. Since its founding in 1986, the Society has grown to a worldwide membership of over 200.

While many BCS members correspond directly with their fellow members, the principal links with other society members has been the the society's quarterly journal (Bermuda Post). Our just-launched web site will add yet another powerful tool for member interactions.

Bermuda Post
Bermuda Post articles cover the entire range of the island's philatelic spectrum. A typical issue might contain articles ranging from the classics and watermark varieties to collateral material and historical background of new issues. Other frequently reported topics include military usage, censors, first flights, the Bermuda Railway, postal history, revenue usage, paquebot cancels, first day cancels and picture post cards. Philatelic events on the island are also covered.

The Bermuda Post has been awarded a Silver-Bronze Medal at CAPEX, a Reserve Grand Award at COLPEX, a Vermeil Medal at a National APS Convention and a Silver Medal at the 112th APS Stampshow.

See the menu item entitled "Bermuda Post" to view the table of contents and selected articles from past issues. Information may also be found there on how to order back issues.

BCS Web Site
Our newest tool for communicating and sharing information with members and vistors is the BCS web site. It is brand new so we are still exploring how to make the most of it.

We hope to be able to provide greatly expanded philatelic content such as scans of exhibits, specialized collections, new articles requiring extensive visual material and/or color, catalogues of major Bermuda auctions, and out of print philatelic literature.

In addition to the expanded philatelic content, we hope to provide a greatly increased capability for members to communicate and share materials with one another through a BCS bulletin board and secure e-mail capability.

Meetings
The Society holds an annual meeting in the spring of each year. Several meetings have been held in Stamford, Connecticut and others in conjunction with major stamp shows such as CAPEX and NAPEX. Attendance, in the past, has averaged over thirty members from the U.K., Bermuda and much of the U.S. Beginning with informal social events on Friday, the balance of the weekend is reserved for informative presentations, auction, swap-meets and a Saturday evening dinner. Special events/trips are planned for spouses attending the meeting. The 2006 meeting will be held in conjunction with Washington 2006.

In addition to the annual meeting, many informal gatherings are held around the world to discuss and research Bermuda's rich history with new-found friends in the Society. Many of these meetings are held in association with major stamp shows and usually include an informal dinner. A gathering was held in Bermuda several years ago which included post office tours provided by the Bermuda Post Office.
